NWFS provides workshops to hundreds of families in

WorkXource

Workxource workshops are a series open to everyone looking to better develop their job search skills. Community experts and NWFS staff cover topics including interest and skill assessments, writing an effective cover letter and resume, how to conduct a job search, proper interviewing techniques and the impact of social networking media. Our programs are in English and Spanish.

Parent and Youth Mentor Alliance:

Parenting Inside Out (IOP) is an evidence-based, cognitive-behavioral parent management skills training program created for criminal justice and systems involved parents through a six-year collaboration of scientists, policy makers, practitioners, and instructional designers. Both the information in the program and the way that information is presented were informed by knowledge derived from research and practice.

Workshop Topics

Inside Out Program is a unique IOP program just for parents who have children who suffer from mental health or behavioral issues and have themselves overcomevery interactive and takes a step-by-step process highlighting how to be an effective parent. IOP satisfies mandated parenting class requirements.

The Incredible Years – This 12 week evidence based parenting series empowers parents of preschool – elementary aged children. Participation in this workshop will give parents an enhanced knowledge of how to promote their children’s academic, social and emotional skills, as well as reducing conduct problems.

Motherhood Fatherhood is sacred– a seminar program aimed at pre-puberty children and their parents covering the changes that puberty brings. A great bonding opportunity

Understanding Teen Behavior and Mental Health – a workshop to help parents understand mental health symptoms in teens

Adulting: Do you want to stress less and have more fun as a parent? Learn how to take care of yourself while juggling the demands of parenting. In this 10-week class families will focus on positive parenting techniques and enjoying the relationship with your child.
